People who bet “yes” on Harry Kane at odds above 50 have a serious problem—his actual chances are much lower. You might as well bet “no” or on other outsiders like Mbappé, Dembélé, or Kvara (or Yamal, but in my opinion, his impact during the World Cup was far too limited for a Ballon d’Or).

Because bookmakers let liquidity chase the odds, they saw the incoming liquidity after the WC and heavily raised the odds, why sell your odds for cheap when you can sell them expensive?

I guess it's also simply a matter of liquidity, when yupiii is done selling his No's the buying liquidity for Kane will plumett. Next to that is that there are simply a few semi-inactive whales with a lot of Kane shares who seem to be holding long term, but if one of those decides to sell the liquidity will also be depleted.
